A beautiful and very practical enhancement to InterMetro wire shelving are our exclusive butcher-block shelf inlays constructed of solid hard-rock maple. The thick, heavy inlay creates the ideal work surface for a contemporary kitchen island, baker's rack, or kitchen cart constructed from InterMetro wire shelving components. We offer a large assortment of sizes that correspond to InterMetro wire shelf dimensions that are available in edge-grain or end-grain construction in either an oiled or lacquered finish.

End-Grain Wood Shelf Inlays

The premium end grain "checker board" construction is the strongest type of construction available making it ideal for butcher blocks and cutting boards. Made from 1-¼" thick hard rock maple, it will last almost forever and is easy on knife edges. The oiled finish is food-safe and recommended for food preparation, while the lacquered finish inlay creates an attractive work or desktop surface for your InterMetro shelving. If you are planning to use your shelf inlay for cutting and chopping tasks, choose an end-grain inlay with oiled finish. Dimensions are shown below.

Shelf Posts

Mix and match posts, shelves, and accessories to create your own unique system from individual InterMetro components.  It takes only a few minutes to assemble a shelf unit without any tool, and it can be reconfigured to change at any time.

Posts are sold separately from open stock in different heights. Constructed from tubular steel 1" in diameter, they are available in a chrome, black epoxy, or white epoxy finish. Grooved rings in 1" increments along post length allow fast and easy attachment of post sleeves for mounting wire shelves. Each post has an adjustable leveling bolt foot.

The Chadko enclosures wonderfully complement our InterMetro and Metro wire shelves. Constructed in durable and flexible PVC material 1/8" thick, each set will create a vertical enclosure between two wire shelves. A large assortment are sizes are available that correspond to our wire shelf dimensions with several enclosure wall heights. Each panel snaps into place without any tool. Depending on size, they come with a swing door or sliding doors (most are sliding doors). Along with the door panel, included in the kit are side and back panels along with mounting hardware. Six different colors, shown below, are available. Give your wire shelving a fresh designer look, cover up clutter, and add more functionality to your shelving in just minutes.

The patented Set & Go system allows for quick and easy, independent adjustment in one-inch increments of the intermediate wire shelves. With the Set & Go system, you do not disassemble the unit to move or add a shelf!  Like all InterMetro wire shelving, the unit assembles in minutes without tools.
