The key-wound ship's clock resonates with the rich sound of the traditional ship's 8-bell watch cycle, ringing every half hour. The 11-jewel movement and bell silencer are handcrafted by the clockmaker Hermle in Germany's Schwarzwald, home to some of the finest clockmakers in the world. The chime used is known as the "ship's bell".

Each piece is created from solid, forged brass that is hand polished and lacquered. The series features the finest German movements, dials, hands, and components available in the world. The distinctive dial of each instrument is intricately etched to create a subtle but rich pattern. Each instrument in the collection is labeled with a unique serial number and includes complete instructions and mounting hardware.
