Before the layer of chrome is plated, one layer of copper and one of nickel are applied to ¼" cold-rolled steel. The chrome is then hand polished to a mirror finish and is not lacquered. Over time it will develop a patina, or it can remain bright with occasional polishing with a good-quality glass cleaner. The oval rack is available in three sizes:
