Yesteryear has traveled throughout Malaysia to find the best factories for the production of its fine collection. The production of wicker has its roots in basketweaving and furniture made in ancient Egypt and Greece. Wicker furniture was popular in American and English homes throughout the 17th and 18th centuries. Willow branches have been replaced by rattan for wickerwork in the 20th Century. More on Wicker
